Facilities Rental Agreement
Prices are subject to change without notice. All rentals are subject to Facility Policy and available space.
Casting Facilities Rental
New Mexico Experimental Glass Workshop Inc. provides kiln rental to professional glass artists. Casting facilities include a dedicated mold-making room and 200+ sq. ft. of kiln space.
Standard Kilns are available at a daily rate of $50
Kiln rental must be scheduled one week in advance.
Hot Shop Facility Rental
New Mexico Experimental Glass Workshop Inc. provides hot shop facility rental to professional glass artists. Hot shop rental provides use of all hot shop facilities and tools, including furnace, glory hole, annealers, basic hand tools, ladles, blow pipes and various torches, with up to two square feet of annealing space (for a 9-hour cycle) and 15 lbs of glass included in each hour of kiln rental. In-house glass blowing facilitation or assistance is available for an additional charge.
Hot shop rental is $50 hourly with a 3 hour minimum reservation.
Extra Glass $1 lb,
extra annealing space or time subject to casting facility fees of $40 daily kiln rental.
Rental must be scheduled one week in advance with approval of the NMEGW hot shop Facility Director
Cold Shop Rental Facility
New Mexico Experimental Glass Workshop Inc. provides cold shop rental to professional glass artists. Rental includes a reciprolap, flatting wheels, wet belt sander, Dremel drill, tile saw, freehand tile saw, glass lathe, sandblaster, and various hand tools.
Cold shop rental is $20 hourly with a 3 hour minimum.
Tutorials are available on all equipment for a $20 hourly fee.
Rental must be scheduled one week in advance with approval of the NMEGW cold shop Facility Director.
Flame Working Rental Facility
New Mexico Experimental Glass Workshop Inc. provides flame working rental to professional glass artists. Rental includes Borosilicate (Pyrex) or Moretti, glass; an assortment of recycled "house" colors, assorted surface mix and internal mix torches for small to medium sized works; hand tools and fully equipped flame working bench.
Flame working facility rental is $50 hourly with a 3 hour minimum.
Rental must be scheduled one week in advance with approval of the NMEGW cold shop Facility Director

All Facilitators and Students and Renters must sign an acknowledgement of NM Experimental Glass Workshop Inc. Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy; Hazard Warning; and Facility Policy.
NOTICE OF NONDISCRIMINATORY POLICY: AS TO STUDENTS, RENTERS, AND FACILITATORS
Workshop admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs and athletic and other school administered programs.

New Mexico Experimental Glass Workshop Inc. represents that glass-working is potentially hazardous to your health. You may be burned, cut or otherwise hurt in the normal pursuit of glass-working activities.
Facility Policy
Sign in at the office when you start, and sign out as soon as you finish.
Clean the facility area thoroughly after use, including all equipment, table surfaces, floors, walls, sink, and knock-off buckets.
If you take a break, clean your work area and sign out at the office when you stop.
Notify a Facility Director immediately if there are any problems with equipment.
No alcohol or drug use is allowed while working in New Mexico Experimental Glass Workshops Inc.
Everyone must wear the proper safety equipment - eye wear, breathing masks, gloves.
